About This Blog
This is an experiment, like any other we all conduct on a daily basis to further our cause. We seek a medium to exchange ideas, information and idle chatter with other like minded individuals in the county. The forum of a blog allows everyone who reads the blog to contribute and the existence of this blog relies on input from others.
We hope that we can attract scientists from all the bioscience-based institutions. This concept was initiated during a conversation at a Happy Hour at FITCI between the CEO of a start-up Stem Cell company and a PI working for SAIC at NCI on Ft Detrick. The State sponsored Incubator program for start-up private companies and one of the largest employers in Frederick County seemed like a good place to start.
We hope to bring others into this circle to the benefit of all parties.

You got the high containment article subject totally wrong. It is not the DHS NBACC that is featured; it is the NIH NIAID Integrated Research Facility (IRF) that is featured in the may issue of Popular Mechanics.

Frank, Yes and no. The article is about NIAID, but that facility is still under construction. The BL4 suites are in the facility managed by NBACC, although NIAID is a tenant. Quite frankly, the whole thing I find most confusing….
