CiteULike A free online service to organise your academic papers
Compilation of human mitochondrial mammalian tRNA Genes 3064 tRNA gene sequences from 150 fully sequenced genomes available on GenBank database (NCBI)., updated regularly.
DNA sequence Reverse Complement Tool You can reverse, complement or reverse-complement your sequence. The sequence is cleaned by default from non-GATC characters. Support for ambiguous DNA characters (IUPAC) is forthcoming.
DNA/Protein sequence cleaner Allows the easy cleaning (removal of unwanted spaces, slashes, numbers etc..) of sequences. Typically useful when retrieving sequences from online databases. Also allows custom numbering of the input sequence.
DNA/Protein sequence randomizer Basically this is an interface to the Python “random” module. Custom number of iterations allowed. Optionally cleans the input sequence with the sequence cleaner before randomization. Optionally formats the output sequence.
DOAJ the Directory of Open Access Journals. This service covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals.
GOBASE: The organelle genome database Biological information from a number of sources world-wide containing nucleotide and related protein sequences, genetic and physical maps, RNA secondary structures, biochemical and organismal information for mitochondrial and chloroplast genomes, among other important biological data
High-Throughput Interaction Data Handler A multi-tools utility to handle data matrices, with a focus on high throughput protein-protein interaction data. Can of be used with any kind of data matrix, provided the File Format specification are met. Includes the GRAPHER tool, that draws a customizable visual representation of input matrices. The data handler is under development and should be regarded as beta software.

    Hi Jim,

This may be too aggressive or interpreted as showing favoritism but having links to the “big” biotech companies in Frederick county may be helpful ie MedImmune, SAIC, DVC, Emergent BioSolutions, Invitrogen, Lonza. Also who can live without the FDA website? At least for those referencing guidance docs, CFR etc. and even BioWorld although this may have no direct link to Frederick.

Been busy in the lab and not playing on the blog today.

By the way, I do have direct links to the big guys on the “Companies” page, as well as direct links to their job boards via the Job Search page. Were you looking for something else?

I, for one, can live without the FDA web site. I may post it when I have the chance, maybe a link to the CFRs. I will look into the BioWorld site when I have a chance.

    Thanks,

    JH

    Hey Jim,

I think that many of the biotechnicians would be interested in my community; http://community.1technation.com.

It’s a place where biotechnicians and manufacturers can post discussion about servicing the equipment that they deal with every day. It is also a general networking community to build up contacts and relationships with other clients.

    Membership is free.
